If you’re looking to race go-karts in Fort Myers, then you’re in luck. There are a couple of go-kart racing spots here for kids and adults, ranging from tracks inside fun parks to dedicated oval race tracks.

If you’re looking to enjoy your karting session closer to the city center of Fort Myers, Florida, then you should check out either FastTrax or Gator Mike’s. Both of these are fun parks with plenty of other attractions.

1. FastTrax Fort Myers

Facility

FastTrax is an entertainment hub and fun park located in Fort Myers, just off Summerlin Road. There are plenty of attractions here that can be enjoyed by adults and kids. 

Some of these attractions include bowling, roller coasters, a drop tower, a train, and of course an awesome outdoor go-kart track. There are plenty of thrill and amusement rides here for all ages.

They even have a membership program called Champions Club for regulars with special discounts. You’ll also have the chance to book their party rooms for a birthday party or corporate event.

Race Track

FastTrax in Fort Myers features two go-kart tracks, one for adults and the other for juniors. This also means that adults and junior drivers race in different types of go-karts and on two separate tracks. 

Every Wednesday and Thursday, both tracks are combined into a mega track, making it essentially twice as long. Both tracks are located outdoors and feature various twists and turns. While they increase your cornering skills, this track seems to lack longer straight sections where you’ll be able to practice overtaking.

Go-Karts

There are three types of go-karts featured here. Adults who are at least 56” tall get to race in OTL Storm EFD go-karts, whereby kids who are at least 4” tall, get to ride in OTL’s junior karts. 

There are also two-seater go-karts which are great for parents who want to race with their kids. All of these go-karts are high-quality and imported from Italy. They also feature an electric motor and various safety features.

2. Gator Mike’s Family Fun Park

Facility

Gator Mike’s Family Fun Park is a theme park that has plenty of attractions for adults and kids alike. Apart from racing go-karts, you’ll be able to enjoy virtual reality games, aerial ropes, climbing walls, ziplines, mini-golf, arcade games, batting cages, and even ax throwing. 

This facility is also great for organizing private events such as birthday parties or corporate team building sessions. They also have special events and promotional packages from time to time, so make sure to check before heading down!

Race Track

There are two go-kart tracks called the Grand National Track and the Figure 8 Track. The Grand National Track is a beginner-friendly track with slower pacing. This is great for racers who are new to racing karts.

On the other hand, the Figure 8 Track is designed for adrenaline seekers that feature high-speed go-karts with various challenging twists and turns. Take note that each race lasts for about 5 minutes.

Go-Karts

Gator Mike’s Family Fun Park has two types of go-karts available on both race tracks. The single-seater go-karts are ideal for individual racers, whereas the two-seater go-karts are designed for an adult racer with a child passenger. 

All types of go-karts are equipped with a powerful engine, padded seats, safety belts, and bumpers for extra protection. Take note that you’ll need a valid driver’s license and be at least 58” tall to drive go-karts on their faster Figure 8 Track!

4-17 Southern Speedway is about 22 miles away from Fort Myers and is the closest place where you’ll be able to race go-karts in the area, apart from FastTrax For Myers and Gator Mike’s Family Fun Park.

This is a dedicated racing facility that doesn’t offer anything beyond motorsports. Apart from go-kart races, this location also hosts various other racing classes, such as midget, cars, and outlaws, among various others.

Race Track

The race track at 4-17 Southern Speedway is an outdoor oval-shaped race track that features an asphalt surface. Apart from being completely flat, it’s equipped with floodlights, to allow for night races. 

The race track is 3/8th-mile long and was built in 1990 by LeRoy Davidson. The outside side of the race track has a safety barrier made of used rubber tires for added protection.

Go-Karts

4-17 Southern Speedway does not have any arrive and drive packages or rental go-karts available. If you wish to race here, you’ll need to bring your own go-kart and register for a league or championship. Just ensure that you check all of the kart classes beforehand and check the race schedule for more information.

Since this is a dedicated racing facility, there is no food available trackside. However, you’ll be able to bring your own refreshments and snacks along, which you can enjoy on the bleachers that overlook the oval race track.
