Sir Goony’s Family Fun Center has been around since 1980, providing the ultimate fun experience for families in Knoxville and nearby locations. The facility also offers miniature golf, paintball, a splash zone, and a sports zone alongside go-kart racing.

It offers a fun and friendly environment for families who want to spend time racing go-karts. This place also offers a 2-hour party package for 40 single racers. You also have the option to book the pavilion for an event and add food or additional guests to the package for an extra fee.

Race Track

Sir Goony’s Family Fun Center has an outdoor race track for go-karting. It is an asphalt track, winding around to stretch over 800 feet in length. The turns are smooth with a couple of twisting curves, challenging enough to keep things interesting for kids and adults. 

There is only one track available at Sir Goony’s, which is surrounded by safety barriers that keep young kart racers from going off-track. Go-karting at this facility is safe for families with children as well.

Go-Karts

This fun park has two types of go-karts, which are single-seater karts and double-seater karts. The single-seater go-karts require drivers to be at least 56″ tall. Kids and adults can ride this go-kart here as long as they fulfill this requirement, as there is no age limit.

Take note that drivers have to be at least 18 years old to drive a double-seater go-kart, while the passenger must at least be three years old. Both types of go-karts come with safety features like a bumper system and a safety belt.

The facility offers rental karts, so all you have to do is book a session and hit the race track alone or with your family and friends.

When Mike Hillard, the track owner & race director, is not hosting races, he attends to families on weekends alongside other staff. Moreover, Ashway Speedway offers weekend training sessions and races for various types of karting classes.

This facility also hosts championships for all skill levels. You can participate in adrenaline-pumping races regardless of your experience or age, as long as you meet the class requirements.

Race Track

The 1/4-mile dirt race track of Ashway Speedway is oval-shaped. It is an outdoor track, perfectly laid out for oval kart enthusiasts. The facility hosts go-kart races regularly, with yearly championships!

You can choose to race here during practice sessions or take part in various leagues and championships. Just ensure that you and your go-kart qualify for the respective kart classes that are available.

Go-Karts

Ashway Speedway only provides rules and requirements for kart classes, as a host of racing competitions. Participants have to bring their own go-karts to race here. The races are for oval karts only.

There are certain brands and models strictly prohibited from the championship races. Ducar, Dyno, and Tillotson are some of them. If you plan to participate in a Predator championship, you’ll have to use Harbor Freight Motors only. Make sure to read the rules and regulations carefully before registering.

Food & Beverage

The racing facility does not offer food and beverages during races or championships. You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks, as long as you keep them away from the race track.

Since 1985, Dumplin Valley Raceway has opened its doors to oval kart racing enthusiasts. Located about 12 miles away from Knoxville, this karting facility can be found along Dumplin Valley Road, in Kodak, Tennessee.

Dumplin Valley Raceway holds various types of races and championships across different kart classes, ranging from juniors to seniors and everything in between. During race days, the atmosphere here is exciting and the community, as well as the owners, are friendly and inviting.

Race Track

This go-kart racing facility near Knoxville houses a 1/4-mile oval-shaped dirt track that is strictly used for oval kart races. This race track features a banked design with floodlights located in the center to also host night races.

It’s also located within a forested area that makes racing here enjoyable and scenic. However, one thing that seems to be missing here is bleachers.

Go-Karts

There are various types of kart racing classes that are regularly open for registration. The two age-restricted classes are the Junior and Senior racing championships, whereas the other kart classes include Predator and clone classes (with and without prep).

There are no arrive and drive packages here so you’ll need to bring your own go-kart along if you wish to race at Dumplin Valley Raceway.
