1. Speedworld Go-Karts

Facility

Speedworld Go-Karts is a family amusement park that features plenty of go-karting action. There is also the Splash Mountain Water Park located right beside it. You’ll be able to get passes for both parks or only the go-kart tracks if you wish. 

Overall, Speedworld Go-Karts offers a wide variety of fun and action for the entire family. You can spend your entire day there and if you’ve completed all the race tracks you can simply head over to Splash Mountain Water Park for more water-based attractions.

Race Track

Speedworld Go-Karts features a whopping 10 different go-kart tracks. There is a go-kart track for every type of racer in the family. In fact, it’s the largest go-kart racing facility on the entire East Coast. You won’t need to worry about going to different areas in order to try out all the different karting tracks, as they’re all located in the same facility. 

The race tracks are Miami Drift, FUTURE 8, Cyclone Cart Coaster, Formula 1, Kiddie Grand Prix, Slide 4 Five, Super Raceway , Grand Prix, Rookie Track and Lemans. There are tracks for every age group. Kids can race at the Kiddie Track from the ages of just 3 years old, while other tracks are designed for youths and adults.

Go-Karts

There are a total of 140 go-karts in Speedworld Go-Karts. Each race track features a unique type of go-kart that is made to the requirements of the race track and the intended audience.

Moreover, there are also go-karts for kids, youths and adults in single and double-seater configuration. All go-karts contain safety features such as bumpers and safety belts.

Food & Beverage

As Speedworld Go-Karts is a large amusement park, they offer a wide variety of food. There are two food locations inside the park, which offer a full menu. Both locations offer delicious meals and refreshing beverages.

2. Grand Prix Amusements & ProTrack

Facility

Grand Prix Amusements is another great go-kart racing track located in Ocean City, Maryland. Although it’s slightly further away from the beach, it’s still conveniently located and easily accessible.

Apart from go-kart tracks there are also other fun activities for the family, such as slides, rock climbing, bumper boats, batting cages and an arcade. While the other attractions are catered more towards kids and youths, it’s still great fun for the entire family

Race Track

There are a total of 9 different go-kart tracks at Grand Prix Amusements. The tracks are called Kiddie Track, Family Cyclone, Family Speedway, Super Cyclone, Grand Prix, Sprint Karts, Drift Track, Stock Cars and the ProTrack.

There is a track for every age and kids as young as 5 years with a minimum height of 40” can already start racing go-karts. ProTrack is geared towards the more advanced go-kart racers and drivers must be at least 16 years of age and and 58″ tall.

Go-Karts

There are many different kinds of go-karts and each go-kart is appropriate for its respective race track. Go-karts for kids are small and speed governed, whereby family go-karts come in a one or two-seater configuration.

The go-karts on the ProTrack are Sodi RX8 and are capable of reaching speeds of up to 30 mph. All go-karts require you to wear seat belts and are also equipped with safety features such as bumpers.

Food & Beverage

Although Grand Prix Amusements doesn’t offer food in a restaurant, their snack bar has plenty of options for smaller snacks and beverages. Don’t worry, there are also plenty of other food options just down the road such as Popeyes, Outback and Pizza Tugos.

3. Baja Amusements

Facility

Baja Amusements is another awesome family-oriented fun park with countless activities. It’s operated by the same management as Grand Prix Amusements and ProTrack, which are located just half a mile down the road.

Apart from its go-kart tracks it features carousels, roller coasters, climbing walls, mini golf and an arcade for kids. This amusement park is more family-oriented compared to Grand Prix Amusements and also has a bigger focus on other attractions.

Race Track

There are a total of 8 go-kart race tracks at Baja Amusements. These tracks are called Rookie Track, Corkscrew, Family Gran Prix, Family Track, Road Racer, Bullet Track, Slick Track and Stock Cars.

There are different tracks for kids, youths and adults. These tracks also feature different themes. Some of them are geared towards family racing, whereas the other themes include drifting and circuit racing.

Go-Karts

All of the go-karts in Baja Amusements are appropriate for the track that they’re raced on. The go-karts for kids are much smaller with a speed limiter. The go-karts for adults, as well as the stock car go-karts are much faster and have higher driving requirements.

All go-karts are equipped with safety features such as bumpers and seat belts that protect the driver. Kids must be at least 5 years old and 40” tall in order to race go-karts, and the faster go-karts require racers to be at least 12 years old and 56” in height.

Food & Beverage

Although Baja Amusements does’t feature a fully-fledged restaurant, it does have a delicious snack and beverage menu. Food items include hot dogs, pizzas, pretzels, ice cream and soft drinks. You’ll have the option to either sit indoors or outdoors and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
