Location

Kart 2 Kart has one of the best go-kart racing tracks in Michigan. It’s located in Sterling Heights, Metro Detroit and features a 1/5 mile indoor racing track. The track itself is equipped with a sophisticated live timing and scoring system that you can make use of.

They have a great selection of go-karts that are capable of reaching speeds exceeding 35 mph. The go-karts are powered by a 6.5 hp Honda engine and are available in one or two-seater configurations.

It’s worthy to mention that they have a no sandal and open toe shoes policy so make sure that you bring proper shoes. Racing gloves are also advised. Kart 2 kart also offers great food with a wide selection of items on the menu to pick from. You can also bring your entire family to the track, as they also have junior karts for kids aged 4 years and above. This means that you can even rent a two-seater and  have your kid sit in the passenger seat, while you race your kart around the track.

In order to rent a pro kart you need to be at least 56″ or taller and be 16 years of age with a valid driver’s license. Make sure that you bring all required documents along. Overall, Kart 2 Kart is my favorite go-karting location in Michigan, due to its great location, well-designed race track and all-round fun facilities.

They have a fleet of Sodi electric go-karts that run extremely quietly and provide quick acceleration around the track. They’re open daily, and closed on Mondays. Make sure that you reserve your racing slots during peak hours, as it can get crowded from time to time.

The Extreme Indoor Kart Racing (also known as EIKR) track is located in Clio, Michigan and features a 1/4 mile indoor track. It’s stocked with Sodi’s new electric RTX go-karts that are capable of speeds up to 40+ mph. It’s a full-fledged go-karting facility that sells apparel, features pro & junior go-karts, and has party & function rooms and even an arcade for events.

EIKR also host some special event races such as the Enduro race that can last anything between 1 – 2 hours. You can register via the counter, but you need to bring a group of eight participants. Apart from the Enduro, EIKR posts new events online on their website that is open to all participants.

Right next to the race track, you’ll be able to find a restaurant with some great food. The pizza is definitely recommended! The Extreme Indoor Kart Racing center is definitely more family oriented and great for a weekend  session or for birthday parties (they have great group deals). 5. Owosso Motorsports Park

Details

State: Michigan
City: Owosso
Type: Outdoor
Track: 1/7 Mile Track
Karts: Bring Your Own
Requirements: –
Food: Snack Bar

Location

As the name suggests, Owosso Motorsports Park is located in Owosso, Michigan. This track is an interesting addition to this list, as it’s an open-air go-karting track. It features a 750 feet long dirt track that is oval shaped, which makes it very unique compared to conventional indoor kart tracks.

OMP has several competitive racing events from May through September. You would need to bring your own go-karts as this location only features a track and no go-karts for rental. It’s therefore more suitable for enthusiasts who have their own go-karts. Racing on this track has a similar feel to NASCAR and overtaking can be tricky due to the oval shape and layout.

They also offer season passes to racers and general admission tickets to spectators. Make sure to check the weather, as this is an outdoor track with no roof. It’s also advisable to bring some food along as there is no restaurant at the track.

Overall, Owosso Motorsports Park offers a unique go-karting experience to enthusiasts who own their own karts and who find passion in performance tuning. Since it’s an outdoor dirt track, make sure that you bring appropriate racing equipment to the venue.
