Where to Buy Go-Kart Parts? The 7 Best Places Identified

Whether you are building your own go-kart or replacing components, it can be difficult to get hold of go-kart parts. Certain stores may only have a limited inventory or may not even offer parts that you are looking for.

If you’re looking to purchase go-kart parts, you should explore the following places:

  1. Marketplaces
  2. Retailers
  3. Manufacturers
  4. Garage Sales
  5. Community
  6. Forums

A great tip is to not limit your search to one location, instead explore multiple options and see which place offers the best prices and delivery options. Here is a quick summary on each of the locations.

1. Marketplaces

Online marketplaces are one of the best places to find new and used go-kart parts. Most of these online marketplaces also let you narrow down your selection by location, price and payment methods.

eBay

One of the best places to buy new and used parts for your go-kart is on eBay. It offers an easy platform to search for your parts and also gives you several features that help you narrow down your search.

Here are some of the filters that you can apply to your part search:

  • Brand
  • Type
  • Condition
  • Price Range
  • Location

Based on these filters, you’ll be presented with a list of available go-kart parts that you can select. When selecting the part, you’ll get brought to a product page. Each product page will typically show you multiple pictures of the part and features a description as well as the relevant specifications.

There, you’ll be able to add your go-kart parts to your shipping cart or directly check out. Additional features of buying go-kart parts on eBay include adding them to your watchlist, messaging the buyer, selecting your shipping preferences, viewing related items and also viewing the seller’s feedback.

One great thing about eBay is that it’s available globally. While there are country-specific eBay sites, you’ll be able to order off any and ship direct to your doorstep (if the supplier allows for global shipping).

Facebook

Facebook is another great alternative marketplace to find go-kart parts. While most of the listings are used, there are several retailers offering new parts, as well. While Facebook Marketplace launched in 2016, it really only got traction a few years later.

The great thing about its marketplace is that you are able to type in your search criteria and narrow down your selection with a location and radius. This enables you to find go-kart parts near you, depending on how far you are willing to travel.

There are plenty of go-kart parts listed and the marketplace can be used globally as well. You can even ask questions to the seller and negotiate the price.

While prices are indicated on each listing, Facebook Marketplace does not have feature built-in payments. This means you’ll need to arrange payment and delivery or pickup off the platform.

Amazon

You’ll also be able to find plenty of go-kart parts on Amazon. Amazon is the largest online marketplace in the world and is my preferred option. It features plenty of parts for go-karts and has favorable shipping options.

While you can buy used go-karts parts on Amazon, it’s mainly used for purchasing new parts from many of the sellers. From go-kart carburetors, belts, spark plugs to steering wheels and seats, Amazon has pretty much any go-kart part that you can think of.

After having search for the go-kart part, you are able to further refine your search results by filtering the following:

  • Brand
  • Price
  • Condition

The product page is where Amazon really shines. Each page features detailed product descriptions, specifications, price, delivery options, questions and answers, as well as products review.

The reviews on Amazon are mostly helpful whereby some of them even feature product images. You’ll also be presented with other related products, which makes your buying experience more fulfilling.

Amazon also offers plenty of shipping options and is even able to indicate when your go-kart parts will arrive. There is no wonder why Amazon is the largest online marketplace around.

2. Retailers

You’ll also be able to source and buy go-kart parts at retailers or distributors. These can be either brick-and-mortar or online stores. One advantage that these online retailers have is that they typically specialize in go-karts and go-kart parts.

This also means that they usually have a large inventory that consists of all types of parts such as carburetors, spark plugs, seats, tires, wheels, axles and pretty much anything else.

You may have already heard of online retailers such as BMI Karts or GoPowerSports. They have a large offering and you can easily find the parts you are looking for by searching or browsing through their categories.

However, you should note that they mostly only cover deliveries within the United States (sometimes North America).

Another advantage of buying go-kart parts through online retailers is that they are usually a certified vendor of the respective manufacturer. This allows them to stock Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts, and have an entire parts list of each go-kart that they sell.

Since you’re not going to be dealing with private sellers, online part purchases usually have warranties, manuals and also a customer service team that can help you out if you have any questions.

Do note that these online retailers and distributors sell mainly new go-kart parts. For used parts, it’s best to go through an online marketplace.

Here’s a list of the best online retailers for purchasing go-kart parts:

  • BMI Karts (Ships within USA – delivery within 1 – 5 days)
  • GoPowerSports (Ships globally – US deliveries within 1 – 5 days)
  • GoKartSupply (Ships within USA – delivery within 1 – 5 days)
  • MFGSupply (Ships within USA – delivery within 2 – 6 days)
  • GoKartsUSA (Ships globally – US deliveries within 3 – 7 days)

3. Manufacturers

If you have a racing or off-road go-kart and are looking to replace some of the parts, you may be able to buy them directly from the manufacturer. While most of the go-kart manufacturers sell parts through a distributor, some also sell components directly to consumers.

Most of the racing go-kart manufacturers such as Tony Kart, CRG Karts or Intrepid have an online shop or catalogue, where you can buy go-kart parts such as engines, frames/chassis, body kits, etc.

Parts for off-road go-karts such as Yerf-Dog or similar brands may need to be purchased through a distributor or retailer instead. Manufacturers also tend to only sell go-kart parts for their models, so you’ll need to identify the part number that you’re looking for.

4. Garage Sales

Getting go-kart parts from a garage sale can be a hit-or-miss. You’ll either find nothing suitable at all, or something that you’ll need for an extremely low price. This is because garage sales are hosted by people who wish to sell their used items at a low price.

This gives you the opportunity to find discounted used parts for your go-kart such as tools, accessories, engines, torque converters, clutches and sometimes even frames. However, you will most likely not be able to find any parts for specific go-kart models here.

5. Community

Another great place to buy go-kart parts is in your local go-karting community. This could be from your friends that you hang out with on your track days or other go-kart racers that live nearby.

Certain race tracks even have a part shop where you can buy certain components for your go-kart or organize social events where you can meet go-kart enthusiasts like yourself that live around your area.

While you may not be able to find all the parts you need, you may be able to find components at a discounted price.

6. Forums

There are also plenty of online forums that have a classified section. However, you’ll mostly only find used go-karts for sale, but occasionally you’ll also be able to find parts.

You can either browse through the subforums to find sellers offering go-karts parts, or you can also open a new thread indicating which part you are interested in buying. If you’re lucky, someone will reply with parts they are letting go.

Even if the forum isn’t able to connect you to a seller, helpful users may point you to the right place and give you ideas, where you could possibly purchase the parts you’re looking for.
